Bambu Lab PLA Galaxy Nebulae 1 kg is a designer PLA filament developed directly by Bambu Lab to achieve top aesthetics on Bambu printers and other FDM devices. The Nebulae variant combines a deep dark blue base with a subtle green shimmer, which, thanks to glass microparticles, creates a star nebula effect and impressive reflections.

The filament is based on the proven Bambu PLA Basic formula, supplemented with glass microspheres for extra shine and visual depth. As a result, it offers excellent layer adhesion, reasonable toughness, and very easy printing without warping, suitable even for beginners.

Printing Recommendations

Specific values may vary depending on the type of printer, nozzle, and environmental conditions. Use these as default settings.

  • Nozzle temperature: approx. 190–230 °C (usually around 210–220 °C)
  • Bed temperature: approx. 35–45 °C (or according to the printer manufacturer's recommendation)
  • Print speed: standard PLA speeds; for the best surface often 50–150 mm/s depending on printer capabilities
  • Cooling: high, 80–100% (typical for PLA)
  • Print bed: smooth/PEI surface, textured PEI, or "cool plate"; if necessary, a thin layer of glue for better adhesion
  • Dry storage: keep dry with desiccant; recommended material humidity below approx. 20% RH

Note: the manufacturer does not recommend using a 0.2 mm nozzle due to additives in the filament; prefer 0.4 mm and larger.


Tips for the Best Result

  • For maximum shimmer effect and color depth, print larger, rounded surfaces and curves where reflections stand out.
  • At higher speeds, it may be advisable to slightly increase the nozzle temperature at the top of the recommended range.
  • If printing on a Bambu Lab printer with AMS, select the PLA Galaxy profile – parameters will load automatically from the RFID.
  • When frequently printing more abrasive materials (e.g., with particles), it is advisable to use a hardened steel nozzle to minimize wear.
