Product description

Product Description

Bambu Lab PETG-CF Malachite Green 1kg is a premium composite filament combining PETG with finely ground carbon fibers. Compared to standard PETG, it significantly increases stiffness and strength, while maintaining good toughness and impact resistance. Thanks to an improved formula, the filament has a substantially lower tendency for stringing and oozing, making printing easier even for more complex models.

Malachite Green is an elegant green shade inspired by malachite. In combination with a fine carbon texture, it creates a very attractive surface suitable for functional and aesthetic parts, such as covers, brackets, assembly fixtures, workshop parts, car parts, or outdoor applications.

Carbon fibers make the filament abrasive, therefore the use of a hardened steel or otherwise reinforced nozzle is recommended.

Main Advantages

  • PETG + carbon fiber composite – higher stiffness, strength, and dimensional stability compared to standard PETG.
  • High toughness and impact resistance – suitable for functional and stressed parts.
  • Better thermal resistance than PLA/PLA-CF – suitable for parts exposed to higher temperatures and sunlight.
  • Significantly reduced stringing and oozing – improved composition compared to standard PETG.
  • Carbon texture with a slight gloss – professional technical surface appearance.
  • Good chemical resistance – resistance to water, oils, and fats.
  • Supplied on a reusable basic spool by Bambu Lab.

Recommended Use

Bambu Lab PETG-CF Malachite Green is ideal for:

  • Structural and load-bearing parts – brackets, mounts, consoles, fixtures.
  • Functional outdoor parts – components exposed to UV radiation and higher temperatures.
  • Technical and aesthetic covers – electronics covers, mechanism housings, fixtures.
  • Automotive and workshop applications – tool organizers, hanging systems, fixtures.
  • Prototyping – where a combination of strength, toughness, and better thermal resistance is needed.

Printing Parameters (Indicative Bambu Lab PETG-CF Profile)

Specific values may vary by printer and environment; typical ranges according to manufacturer-recommended profiles are below:

  • Material: PETG filled with carbon fibers (PETG-CF)
  • Filament diameter: 1,75 mm ± 0,03 mm
  • Recommended nozzle: hardened steel / resistant to abrasive materials
  • Nozzle temperature: approx. 250–270 °C
  • Bed temperature: approx. 70–90 °C
  • Enclosed chamber: recommended but not required (PETG-CF has low shrinkage)
  • Printing speed: medium – for best quality and strength
  • Filament drying: recommended before printing (PETG-CF is hygroscopic)

Practical Recommendations

  • Drying: To achieve maximum surface quality and part strength, we recommend drying the filament in a filament dryer before printing.
  • Nozzle: Due to the carbon fiber content, standard brass nozzles wear out faster. For long-term printing, use a hardened steel / toughened nozzle.
  • Bed adhesion: PETG-CF has good adhesion to most common surface types (textured PEI, glass with a separation layer, etc.). In case of too strong adhesion, we recommend using a separation layer (glue stick, special spray).
  • AMS compatibility: The material is generally labeled as AMS compatible (at Bambu Lab), however, due to hygroscopicity and abrasiveness, it is advisable to ensure proper drying and maintenance of the feeding path.

Who is Bambu Lab PETG-CF suitable for

This filament is ideal for users who:

  • Need functional and structural parts with higher mechanical resistance.
  • Are looking for a material with better thermal and UV resistance than PLA/PLA-CF.
  • Prefer a professional look for parts thanks to the carbon texture and the technical Malachite Green shade.
  • Are prepared to use high-quality, durable nozzles and pay attention to proper filament drying.

On the other hand, it is not the most suitable for beginners who are just starting with print profile settings and have no experience with composite materials – standard PLA or PETG is more suitable for absolute beginners.

Key Features:

  • PETG-CF composite filament with carbon fibers for high stiffness and strength
  • Significantly reduced stringing and oozing compared to standard PETG
  • Carbon surface texture with an attractive technical look in Malachite Green shade
  • Good toughness and impact resistance – suitable for functional and stressed parts
  • Higher thermal and UV resistance than PLA/PLA-CF – suitable even for outdoor use
  • 1kg spool on a reusable Bambu Lab spool
  • Suitable for most FDM printers with a hardened or otherwise resistant nozzle
