Product description

Bambu Lab ABS Tangerine Yellow – Refill 1 kg

Bambu Lab ABS Tangerine Yellow Refill is a top-tier ABS filament without a plastic spool, designed for economical and ecological refilling of original Bambu spools or compatible/printed spools. The material is optimized for printing on Bambu Lab 3D printers (P1, X1, A1, etc.), but can also be used on other FDM printers with an enclosed chamber.

ABS in the shade Tangerine Yellow (#FFC72C) combines high impact toughness, thermal and chemical resistance while simultaneously reducing warping during printing. This makes it suitable for durable mechanical parts, housings, jigs, and functional components that must withstand stress and elevated temperatures.

Key advantages and features

  • Filament without spool (Refill) – an ecological and cost-effective solution for refilling existing Bambu spools or your own printed spools.
  • ABS Material – high mechanical strength, toughness, and impact resistance.
  • Heat resistance – suitable for parts exposed to higher temperatures than standard PLA.
  • Improved anti-warping formula – Bambu ABS is formulated to limit warping and cracking during printing.
  • Good water resistance and chemical resistance – suitable for technical and functional parts in demanding environments.
  • High printing speed – good flow properties for high-speed printing on Bambu printers.
  • Bright Tangerine Yellow color – a distinct yellow-orange shade ideal for safety markings, design elements, or highlighting functional parts.
  • AMS Compatible – suitable for use in the Automatic Material System (AMS) when mounted on the correct spool.

Recommended Use

Bambu Lab ABS Tangerine Yellow is primarily intended for:

  • Functional prototypes and technical parts
  • Structural and mechanical components (holders, mounts, covers, hinges, jigs)
  • Parts for higher temperatures (in interiors, near machinery, in control panels, etc.)
  • Safety and signal elements – distinct yellow shade for better visibility
  • Parts exposed to impacts and vibrations

For best results, an enclosed print chamber and a heated bed are recommended.

Filament Technical Specifications

Note: Specific values for mechanical properties (tensile strength, impact toughness, etc.) are listed in the manufacturer's TDS for Bambu ABS Tangerine Yellow.

Recommended Print Settings

Specific profiles are preset in Bambu Studio for Bambu Lab printers. General recommendations for Bambu ABS:

  • Nozzle temperature: approx. 250–270 °C (guided by the profile in Bambu Studio / slicer)
  • Bed temperature: approx. 90–110 °C
  • Print chamber: enclosed recommended, limits warping and layer cracking
  • Cooling: rather limited, according to profile
  • Build plate: Engineering Plate, High Temperature Plate, or Textured PEI Plate; for smooth surfaces, Bambu Liquid Glue / glue stick is recommended for better adhesion

For other FDM printers, always start with more conservative settings (lower speed, higher bed/chamber) and then fine-tune parameters.

Compatibility and use of Refill packaging

This filament is supplied without a plastic spool. Usage options:

  • mounting on an original reusable Bambu Lab spool,
  • using with your own printed spool according to the Bambu model or compatible design,
  • winding onto another compatible plastic spool.

When inserting the refill roll onto the spool:

  1. Insert the wide part of the spool into the cardboard core of the refill.
  2. Slide in the narrow part and rotate until you hear a click.
  3. Secure spacers (if they are part of the design).
  4. Remove fixing straps and secure the end of the filament against unrolling.

The prepared filament is suitable for both AMS and classic single-color feeding.

Who is this filament suitable for

ABS generally requires some printing experience.

  • Recommended user level: intermediate to advanced (need to work with temperatures, chamber, and adhesion).
  • Ideal for users who need mechanically and thermally resistant parts and are willing to pay attention to printer settings.

Advantages of Refill packaging for your workshop

  • Less waste – no single-use plastic spools.
  • Space saving – empty reusable spools can be stacked and reused.
  • Lower environmental footprint – less plastic and smaller transport volume.

Bambu Lab ABS Tangerine Yellow Refill is the ideal choice if you are looking for a reliable, durable, and color-vibrant ABS filament optimized for Bambu Lab printers and need a refill solution without unnecessary plastic.
