Product Description

Bambu Lab ABS-GF Black is a premium ABS filament reinforced with glass fibers, specifically designed for technical and functional parts. Compared to standard ABS, it offers higher strength, stiffness, better dimensional stability, and higher heat resistance, while maintaining good printability on enclosed FDM printers.

Thanks to the glass fiber additive, the surface of the prints gains a fine matte appearance with a muted gloss, which helps to hide layers and minor imperfections. The material is resistant to water, wear, and impact, making it suitable for long-term used components in home, hobby, and semi-professional environments.

Note: ABS-GF requires an enclosed printer and a more durable nozzle (ideally hardened steel) due to the abrasiveness of glass fibers.

Recommended Use

Bambu Lab ABS-GF Black is ideal for:

• Components requiring stiffness and dimensional accuracy – mechanical components, gear covers, structural elements.
• Parts exposed to moderate heat – interior automotive accessories, parts around electronics, technical covers.
• Durable home and workshop aids – tools, organizers, hinges, hooks, fasteners.

Not recommended for very flexible or extremely impact-stressed parts (for these applications, e.g., PAHT, TPU, etc., are more suitable).

Printing Recommendations

• Printer type: enclosed FDM printer (enclosure) – minimization of drafts and temperature fluctuations.
• Nozzle: min. 0.4 mm hardened steel or other durable material; 0.2 mm nozzle is not compatible.
• Printing speed: typically up to 180 mm/s to achieve optimal quality.
• Build plate: smooth or textured PEI plate; using glue or a glue stick increases adhesion certainty.
• Filament drying: it is recommended to dry the filament before printing (ABS and composites are moisture sensitive).
• Ventilation: fumes are generated when printing ABS, good ventilation or a filter in the printer is recommended.

A specific profile for ABS-GF is available in the Bambu Studio software for Bambu Lab printers; for other printers, we recommend starting from the ABS profile and adjusting temperatures and speeds according to the filament manufacturer's recommendations.
