Bambu Lab Bambu Engineering Plate
Bambu Engineering Plate is an original flexible steel print plate from Bambu Lab designed specifically for engineering (technical) filaments. The surface treatment provides strong adhesion at higher temperatures while allowing easy removal of prints after cooling without damaging the bottom layer.
An ideal choice for users who frequently print PETG, ASA/ABS, nylon (PA), and composite materials, where a standard textured PEI plate might not be enough.

For PLA, the Engineering Plate is usable, but a textured or smooth PEI plate is commonly recommended; PLA can in extreme cases adhere too strongly, so a thin layer of glue is often used as a release film.
Tips for achieving the best results
- Always select the correct plate type (Engineering/High Temp) in the slicer so the firmware uses the corresponding temperature profiles.
- For technical materials, follow the recommended bed temperatures and use a closed chamber (if the printer has one) to reduce the warping effect.
- Before long series of technical prints, we recommend washing the plate with warm water and detergent and then degreasing with IPA.
- Do not use acetone or harsh abrasive sponges to protect the surface.
