The brand new second-generation AMS 2 Pro features more powerful feeding motors that significantly increase filament feeding efficiency and speed up multicolor and multi-material printing. Additionally, AMS 2 Pro introduces a filament drying function using active ventilation in a fully sealed system, which significantly increases drying efficiency and keeps the filament in optimal condition for a long time.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Does the AMS 2 Pro have a power port in addition to the 6-pin cable?
Yes. When using one AMS 2 Pro with H2D, no external power supply is needed.
However, if you connect multiple AMS 2 Pro units and some are used exclusively for drying, these units require an external adapter, which can be purchased in the official Bambu Lab e-shop.
2. Can the AMS 2 Pro be used with X1 and P1 series printers?
Yes. For basic automatic feeding function, the 6-pin cable is sufficient.
If you want to use the drying function, an external adapter is required.
The drying function will be activated for older printers via OTA update by the end of April 2025.
3. Can AMS and AMS 2 Pro be combined?
Yes, you can use them simultaneously with one H2D printer.
4. Can I dry filament during printing?
No, it is not yet possible to dry filament in AMS 2 Pro/HT units that are actively participating in printing.
Drying is only possible on those units that are not involved in the current print.
If the printer is powering a print and simultaneously one AMS 2 Pro unit for drying, the drying performance will automatically decrease. For better results, we recommend using an external power adapter.
5. Can drying be powered directly from the printer?
Yes, H2D can power one AMS 2 Pro unit for drying.
When using multiple units, an external adapter must be used for each additional unit.
