Product description
Alternative Bambu Activated Carbon Air Filter – X1 and P1
Alternative (non-original) active carbon air filter compatible with 3D printers Bambu Lab X1 / X1C / P1P / P1S. Used to absorb volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and unpleasant odors generated during printing of technical materials in an enclosed chamber.
The dimensions and shape of the filter are based on the original Bambu Lab Activated Carbon Air Filter, so it can simply be inserted into the original holder by the chamber fan without any modifications to the printer.
Why use an active carbon filter
When printing materials like ABS, ASA, PC, PA (nylon), more fumes and odors are produced than with PLA. These fumes are directed via the chamber fan through the activated carbon cartridge, which effectively absorbs them.
Alternative filter:
- helps reduce odor in the room,
- adsorbs VOCs and other organic compounds,
- supports safer and more comfortable printer operation indoors.
For standard PLA prints, the amount of fumes is significantly lower, but for technical plastics, you will appreciate the filter much more.
Compatibility
- Bambu Lab X1, X1-Carbon (X1C)
- Bambu Lab P1P (when using an original or compatible air duct)
- Bambu Lab P1S
Structurally based on the original Bambu Lab cartridge, so installation is done in the same way – by sliding it into the chamber fan slot and clicking the plastic cover shut.
Main advantages and features
- Alternative replacement for the original Bambu Lab filter – fully compatible dimensions for the X1 and P1 series.
- Fully filled with activated carbon – high adsorption surface for capturing fumes and odors.
- Simple replacement – just remove the plastic cover, slide out the old filter, and slide in the new one.
- Lifespan up to approx. 1,440 hours of printing (approximate based on the original – depends on the type of printed material and intensity of use).
- Suitable for ABS / ASA / PC / PA and other materials with higher printing temperatures.
- Ideal for workshops, offices, or home offices where odor reduction is important.
Approximate replacement interval
The original Bambu Lab filter has a recommended lifespan of approximately 1,440 hours (60 days of cumulative printing). For the alternative filter, we recommend a similar interval:
- during intensive daily printing of technical materials – expect replacement after 1–2 months,
- during occasional printing – the filter can last significantly longer; monitor for decreased efficiency (increased odor) and replace accordingly.
Step-by-step installation
- Turn off the printer and let it cool down for a moment.
- On the right side of the chamber, remove the plastic cover of the air filter.
- Slide out the old filter by pulling the tab / tongue.
- Slide in the new filter in the correct orientation (tab in the same direction as the original).
- Replace and click the cover back into place.
- If necessary, check in the printer menu / Bambu Studio that the filter / air filtration option is active.
The entire process takes only a few dozen seconds and requires no tools.

Who is the product for
- For owners of Bambu Lab X1 / X1C / P1P / P1S looking for a more cost-effective replacement for the original filter.
- For users frequently printing ABS, ASA, PC, PA, and other technical materials.
- For everyone who cares about lower odor and a more comfortable environment during 3D printing.
Tips for use
- For maximum effect, do not block the air exhaust from the printer and ensure at least basic room ventilation.
- When handling a used filter, do not open it and dispose of it as a whole.
- If you print mainly PLA, you can change the filter less often, but always leave it in the printer for potential use of technical materials.
